Rafael Leal

As a senior majoring in Biology with a minor in Public Health, Rafael Leal is excited to serve as the Membership Coordinator for AED during the 2025–2026 term at the University of Houston. Outside of academics, you’ll likely find him bouldering at Momentum, diving into a good book, or hosting card and board game nights with friends and family. With a focus on leadership, dedication, and a can-do attitude, Rafael aims to foster a welcoming environment for all current and future members while helping build a strong foundation for medical school applications. He looks forward to getting to know each of you!

As Membership Coordinator, my primary role is to maintain accurate records of all memberships, past and present. I handle the application process for new national and associate members, track membership fees, and help organize recruiting efforts through on-campus events. I also assist the Secretary with running the Officer Intern Program to support leadership development within the organization.
